| | The Windber Research Institute (WRI) is a not-for-profit research institute dedicated to the belief that the best way to rapidly improve individual patient care, outcomes, and quality of life is by translating molecular research, driven by clinical questions, into new standards of patient care. Along with colleagues at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC) in Bethesda, Maryland, we focus our research in two main areas: breast cancer and cardio-vascular disease. Our breast cancer research is carried out as part of the Breast Cancer Translational Research Center of Excellence, located in the John P. Murtha Cancer Center at Walter Reed Bethesda (WRB). Our research in cardio-vascular disease is part of the Integrative Cardiac Health Translational Research Center of Excellence also at WRB. | |
